What happens?

This exhibit encourages visitors to explore their five senses. In each section, a different sense is studied. In the 'Touch' section there are a variety of different materials to touch and compare the feeling of. In 'Smell' there are small pots containing the essence of familiar smells for people to guess. In the hearing section there are recorded sounds to guess at and in 'Sight' there are optical illusions. In the 'Taste' section a diagram shows the position of the taste sensors on the tongue.

How does it work?

This is a walk-by-and-try exhibit and the self-explanatory nature makes it easy to use and enjoy.

Why is it important?
