Intensive livestock farmers may raise poultry and possibly pigs indoors in units designed for this purpose.
Mixed farmers combine livestock and arable farming.
Farm managers are responsible for running a farm efficiently and profitably.
People working in commercial horticulture grow products for sale, including salad crops, fruit, vegetables, cut flowers and pot plants, seeds and bulbs, and shrubs and trees for garden and park planting.
Amenity horticulture involves developing facilities for enjoyment by the public and private individuals, including setting up and maintaining parks and public gardens, landscaping, maintaining roadsides, developing national collections, and planting within shopping centres and office blocks.
Landscape architects are involved in conserving and developing the landscape.
